Today I had my first art class ever (not counting elementary school). My sister wanted to prepare herself to try getting into art academy next year (they accept very small number of people so it's extremely hard to get in, especially with all those people that have connections) and I decided to tag along, God knows I need some art lessons I haven't had so much fun in ages, we drew a pumpkin with charcoal, they had some beautiful swirly pumpkin that was all twisted up... If they ever give us our works I'll be sure to post it. I found out I seriously lack in setting the spacial proportions right, something I'll surely watch out for next time

It was interesting to see how two of us have such different styles. She has a heavy hand and tends to make the lines very very dark, which makes a beautiful contrast that makes the shines come out all, um, shinny I on the other hand make very light lines, it's always been like that for me, I just can't force myself to press hard against the paper, but that gives me the opportunity to add fine details to it, although my shines will never be that noticeable. Even when we added our signatures in the end, hers was a strong, thick signature and mine was a fine, light one. We knew before we were different, she's more of a watercolor person, painting everything in one layer swiftly and simply, while I'm more a tempera person (or oil paint person, although I've never actually had the pleasure to paint with them), adding layers and layers of paint and fussing over every detail... It would really be interesting if we did a collaboration, our different styles were sure to produce some interesting results... I'll have to talk her into doing that one day

Anyway, I'm off to bed, we have another lesson to tomorrow morning
